Recognizing the eco-friendly milestone Ecco will establish in the nightlife industry, Discovery Channel (Planet Green) will be featuring the full transformation on its show Alter Eco, hosted by Entourage star Adrian Grenier. Designed by Beau Robb, the mastermind behind renowned venues including Area nightclub and Privilege, Ecco will be the nation’s first eco-friendly certified nightlife venue. Ecco will feature, among other things: • Multi-colored, energy-efficient, state-of-the-art LED lighting system, exclusively designed and installed by Disco Designer and Cosmos Lighting • Power supplied by LA Department of Water & Power’s Green Power resources • Superior Organic cuisine and liquors • Cold & Heat Insulation, saving 20% of standard energy use through high quality insulation • Energy efficient recycled steel air pressure toilets and waterless urinals • State of the art “Dyson Airblades” hand dryers • Free valet for hybrid vehicles • Paperless Solution for ticketing and reservations - Provided by UpCode Solutions USA and its Mobile Access & Interaction technology (MAI)™ • Audio provided by Turbosound, winners of the Best Club Awards 2008 “Best Sound System & Best Sound Product” Ecco is owned and operated by Danny B, David Stratton, Sean Muniz and Matthew Portnoff. Danny B has been a powerhouse club promoter and event planner for the past 20 years, responsible for over 3000 events around the world. "Ok, so our promoter had been comminicating for a week with Ecco Lounge so that Thai Tv can come down and do a mini shoot there on a Saturday night. We were going to do a few interviews and promo the club, all was confirmed through e-mail. We got there early to set up in the patio. All was fine and dandy til bout 10ish when we found out that we had 15 people in line that they would not let in. We heard the Ecco employee say they only want "beautiful" people in the club. Not only that, but our promoter went to talk to the owner and i was told that they would not let our people in because it's too Asian. Really?!?! They told our crew we had to pack up, which we did, thinking we could stay but they said we had to leave and let us out through the back patio door into the alley. I have never felt so low before in my life! Not only did we take the 15 people with us but there were another 30 that came that night. So Ecco turned away 50 customers because we were too Asian and not beautiful to fit their Eco friendly club! This is 2009.... People still discriminate because of race in Los Angeles?" |

"I went here for the first time on Friday, January 19th. It was the first Friday promoted by John Andrea Entertainment. Now, I'm a huge fan of great dance music. Not only was the music killer, the acoustics at Ecco Ultra Lounge are amazing. I felt like I was at a concert. If Ecco Fridays continue to bring in a great crowd and they stick to the thumping, energetic music, then I found my new home. That Friday was better than any other Hollywood lounge or club I've been to recently. The temperature does get high because they don't crank the AC after 11p or so, but it didn't bother me too much. Just don't dress in layered clothing, or be prepared to undress." |
