The Scene Welcomes in 2009

First things first... what a year 2008 was! The economy & politics aside 2008 was a good year for The Scene, which officially launched as the successor to thebarbook.

In our quest to provide the premiere nightlife guide, we have a busy 2009 ahead but we're really excited about what we have planned for you. This year we're going to be providing you all the information you need to make the best decision on where to go - whether you're looking for a happy hour, karaoke, pool party, place to watch the game, or the hottest dance club night... you'll be covered!

To top it all off we're taking The Scene mobile so you can access this information on the go and track where your friends are. Our iPhone application is just a couple weeks away and we'll be looking at other mobile phones to support down the road - Blackberry anyone? - so be sure to tell us what phone you want an app for!

Join The Scene in celebrating Football's biggest day in style with celebrity host and former "Baywatch" star and "Playmate of the Year" Brande Roderick at the world famous Playboy Mansion.

Performing live will be Bret Michaels of Poision and Rock of Love. There will be many celebrity appearances, tons of playmates and models, open bar, game day style food, massages, grotto access, tours of the grounds by playmates, and so much more.

It's Saturday night and you're in unfamiliar territory. The bar you planned on going to was dead and you're looking for a plan B... what do you do?

With The Scene application for iPhone you'll be able to immediately pull up all the bars & clubs around you sorted by distance and see what's happening nearby. You'll have a plan B in no time that promises to be much more fulfilling than plan A.

Expect The Scene for iPhone to hit the iTunes Store in approximately 2-3 weeks. We'll let you know as soon as it's ready for you!
